Tech way might not be the best way to advertise

Sometimes we get so caught up with the internet and advertising by using craigslist, facebook, twitter, and so on. Yet we forget that some of the best forms of advertising are still "real world" applications. Getting your product or service in front of your customers anyway possible is what it comes down to. I recently was advertising, a very very nice two bed room in a nice area, on craigslist every day with a minimal response. I have since rented that apartment after two months and now have another vacancy. I posted the apartment on craigslist list using postlets.com every day as usual, but also broadened my advertising outlets. I place a large "for rent" sign at the top of my street, which happens to be a main street, with a large arrow pointed towards my apartment. I then hung the sign which is pictured above. Low and behold I have received more calls from that sign then from craigslist, facebook, and twitter combined. In these though times, even renting an apartment needs to be looked at and reevaluated. The more ways you advertise the quicker you will rent. Using signs outside of your property or putting up flyers with pull tabs at local business are great ways to start.
Share your ideas that you have about rent aparments.
Happy renting!

New websites

I hope you like the renovated blog site, which has new functionality and a much cleaner look.
Quick Update: I still have the 2 three family houses, which are doing very well. About 6 months ago I voluntarily laid myself off from my former employer where I was an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. I loved the people I worked with but did not enjoy the position. Upon leaving I entered into a state that has the second highest unemployment rate in the USA. I have decided to stay in RI and become an entrepreneur. This decision was not made overnight and is not something I just decided to try. I have always had a very entrepreneurial spirit and more importantly the drive to own my own business. I have since started 2 websites one being www.rimeetup.com and www.LocalFoodandDrinkDeals.com. I currently own and operate these two businesses along while acquiring more houses in the providence area.
A little back ground on the websites. RIMeetUp is a fun low pressure way for singles to meet at different bars and restaurants in Rhode Island. Events are speed dating type events or singles parties. We have held events at SMOKE and Olives, with more events coming shortly to Aqua and the Black Rep. The events are fairly inexpensive and are just a great way for people to try new places while getting to meet other great singles. Check out www.RIMeetUp.com for more info and join our mailing list. Local Food and Drink Deals (www.localfoodanddrinkdeals.com) is a site dedicated to finding the best food and drink deals, every night of the week, at local restaurants and bars. This site will allow people to step into any city, even their own, and know all the best deals. The website is being design by a team from India that I found using Elance.com. If you are looking for any type of clerical work to be done, be it website design, finding sales leads, or anything else I highly recommend taking a look on Elance.
The apartments are all doing well and I just rented out the last vacant one to a very nice individual. Most of the people that are renting are planning on staying for a while, which is good because they are all good tenants. I have been using postlets.com, instead of rentomatic, because it’s free and I can use that money to fix up the houses.
Next update will include
*The importance of curb appeal and rental properties which will includes pictures of a curb appeal project I’m working on.
*I had lots of rental documents on the old blog which did not transfer ov er so I will be adding those on here again for people to use.
* A video and review of me using a Wagner Paint Crew Plus
Hope you like the new site and let me know if you have any comments or questions
